It’s common that the elasticity of the skin’s arm is lost with age or following a significant weight variation.
Arm lift procedures are generally performed under general anesthesia, and can be done as an outpatient or an in-patient.
During the procedure, an incision is made from the inner elbow to the axilla, the excess tissue is elevated and redraped, and the excess is removed.
Typical candidates include women and men in good health who have an excess of loose skin and fatty tissue of the upper arm, and persons who have undergone a significant loss of weight and in whom there is now an excess envelope of skin at the level of the upper arm. Generally, the surgery is done from the age of 50.

Fats can be difficult to remove, even with a diet, the lifting of the superfluous skin is an effective way to correct sagging. The result is a thinner arm, with a scar on the inside opposite the thorax.
The advantages of arm lift surgery include the obvious physical benefit of having a thinner, more manageable, and aesthetically pleasing upper arm. One of the disadvantages is the presence of a vertical scar located and hidden on the inside of the arm.
