This commitment comes from an intimate relationship between the patient and his body, the desire to please to yourself, but also erasing discomforts that can be embarrassing.
Liposuction represents a way to remove localized fatty deposits from the body in order to reshape specific areas of the silhouette into a more aesthetically pleasing shape. It is not a method which is used to remove bodily fat in a general sense, nor is it a replacement for a proper and healthy lifestyle, which includes a healthy and balanced diet, as well as some form of program involving physical activity or training.
The technique itself involves the removal of subcutaneous fat by way of a small cannula (2-4mm) which is inserted through strategically placed and barely visible incisions in the skin.
This procedure may be performed under local anesthesia for small areas; and may require general anesthesia for larger areas to be treated. Typical areas to be treated vary between men and women because their individual physiology dictates such behaviour. In men, the most commonly treated area would tend to be the lower and lateral abdomen; and in women, the most commonly treated area tends to be the lateral thighs. However, all areas of localized fatty deposits are amenable to liposuction.
Patients who respond best to liposuction treatments are healthy men and women, who, after engaging in a proper and healthy weight-loss program, (involving both aspects of diet and exercise) have arrived at a plateau where further improvement in bodily contour and aesthetics is no longer possible despite their best efforts; and in whom specific, localized areas of fatty deposits may persist.
In these individuals, liposuction represents an excellent tool for further aesthetic improvement for these recalcitrant areas.

The results of liposuction will be long lasting, provided you maintain a stable weight and general fitness.
Your improved body contour will be apparent when the swelling and fluid retention commonly experienced following liposuction subside. As your body ages, it is natural to lose some firmness, but most of your improvement should be relatively permanent.
Although good results are expected from your procedure, there is no guarantee. In some situations, it may not be possible to achieve optimal results with a single surgical procedure and another surgery may be necessary.
